Conservative and Patriot: Synonymous?
What is a conservative, how is he different from his liberal counterpart? Many things separate the conservative from the pack, but probably the key difference is attitude. Plain and simple, most conservatives take responsibility for what they do with their lives. They are hard workers, and they appreciate what they have and value the little things in life.
Most conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional family values, and strong national defense. They believe that government should give people the freedom needed to pursue their own goals, solve their own problems, and not expect the government to do it for them.
Liberals tend to believe the government is responsible for providing all of us the equal opportunity and equality for all. They say it is the government’s responsibility to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. They feel that the government should guarantee that no one is in need. Today’s liberals generally expect the government to solve all their problems. They demand their rights, and insist that everyone treat them fairly, which is impossible, and therefore makes them look as if they suck lemons most of the time.
America has the system in place to take care of the individual from the cradle to the grave, whether he wants it or not. Most of us are familiar with the various government programs that constrain individual initiative and create an increasing dependency on a bloated government, rather than encouraging independence and self-reliance. Liberals designed these programs, and whether they intended it to happen this way or not, that’s what we have inherited.
A child raised in a conservative environment learns healthy attitudes early. He has his own age-appropriate chores, and he is held accountable for them. You could call him the “salt of the earth.” Often coming from a close-knit family, he cares about the issues that affect the American family, and he works hard to make sure his children inherit a healthy, prosperous world, and a bright future.
He provides for his own needs and doesn’t expect society to give them to him. You won’t find a Sandra Fluke in a conservative group. What you will find are creative men and women who know how to set goals and work to bring them to fruition. They often do this after working a full day to help provide for their family’s needs. They may be a stay at home moms, or a politician who works all day providing their families with a warm, safe environment to come home to after a hard day. They do everything with a watchful eye on the horizon so that they can prepare for battle against encroaching government, spiritual attacks, and relentless assault from the liberal-left, who want nothing more than to destroy everything they work so hard to build.
Our readers are mostly conservatives who believe in America and traditional family values. Many are born again Christians; some are not. We find all types of Americans among the conservative ranks. Blacks, Hispanics, White, old, young, educated, high school dropouts, and even homosexuals share many of the core values that make one a conservative American. Conservative Americans come in every size, color, and conviction. The one thing we all agree on though is personal responsibility and doing our part to Make America Great Again.
