Goat Island Re-Population Moving Forward

Since we announced that the goats are coming back to Goat Island, things have been moving quickly. A gofundme account has been set up for those who want to donate toward buying Spanish Goats to restock the island. We set a goal of $2,500 to be used to buy goats. As of a few minutes ago, there has been $855 donated from the community. We have received phone calls from people who want to donate one or more goats and others who want to be part of the process.

The Groveton and Trinity High Schools FFA Departments have been asked to share the responsibility of worming them and taking care of any other needs that come up.

While we’re not sure of the timeline, we plan to celebrate with the public when the goats have been placed and settled on the island. Stay tuned for more as we move forward with this amazing project.

The goats who will be living on Goat Island and the whole community appreciates everything you and other citizens of Trinity County are giving, doing, and plan to do to get Goat Island back to normal.
