Inmate Escapes Houston County Jail

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – A Houston County inmate has escaped custody this morning.

According to Houston’s Sheriffs office, at 6:05 a.m., Bobby Eugene Wood, 55, was assigned to worked in the kitchen and asked to go to the restroom. The man received permission and during this time he escaped the facility.

Wood fled towards the city park area and was last seen wearing clothing that is black and white stripes with a dark colored jacket.

Wood is a  5’7” tall, weighs about 160 to 180 lbs, balding with gray hair and has green eyes. Deputie’s orders are not to detain this person because he should be dangerous, if you see this person you are urged to call 911.

According to Chief GP Shearer, the Houston County Police Department is currently looking to find this felon and bring him back into custody.
